The Last of Us Multiplayer Review

With The Last of Us out for more than a month now we had to chance to experience the amazing story that is set in this game.
But with this breathtaking experience comes also a surprising fun and new multiplayer experience.
At first i would expect another Uncharted like multiplayer but that is totally wrong.
The multiplayer takes its roots on the single player experience.
Featuring the same stealth like combat.

The basic of the multiplayer are set on 4vs4 team based matches.
That are played on maps similar to areas found in the single player.
Again you will have limited supply’s and only a few bullets in your clip so fighting another player can be an intense experience.
But could also be over in seconds.
Since your health goose down in only a few hits.
So cover is the basic understanding of fighting back.
Unlike Uncharted where gun running was the way to go.

I like the way i experience every match.
While the basic are the same.
The way we all played changed even during the match.
Playing as a team felt really important even with 3 strangers in my team.
And the fun i experienced from playing was surprisingly addicting since it was so intense to play and sneak up on another player and go for the kill.

I am happy that i never felt that any item or gun is overpowered and ruined my experience.
Even with the Molotov being a one hit killer if you are in the blast radius.

MOLOTOV!!!! :P
The loadouts are easy to set-up and don't take me 15 minutes to set-up.
Which i do have to do in Modern Warfare.
You only have a few points to spend to added guns and perks to your loadout making the choices for your loadout really important for how you play.

The game looks gorgeous even in the multiplayer.
Although there is not much time to spend looking at the map as a tourist.
When you do get a chance, you notice how much love Naughty Dog spend on the terrain.

The Character models are also looking really nice and varied.
But i felt there was not enough customization.
A helmet and a mask makes is not enough.
But that probably me being one of those idiots that wants to customize the character to much :P

Small advice play this multiplayer with a headset.
And then you will notice every sound even footsteps.
When i listening through my Sony Pulse Elite i can hear my teammates left to me without seeing them and thats just awesome.

There was only one thing i missed for the multiplayer and thats a survival mode.
Make it a separate multiplayer below Factions.
Give a few players a map and a few resources to find.
And survive against waves of infected.
Who knows, maybe as future DLC?

  Final Conclusions and Thoughts

Positive
  • New Multiplayer Experience
  • Looks Gorgeous.
  • Not too much choices for the loadout set-up.
  • Balanced gameplay.
Negative
  • More option to customize the player skin then just a helmet and a mask.
  • more modes than just Team Death match.

PSVita wallpaper Designs

Lately i have been not that active with making wallpapers for my favorite portable console.
But i don't feel the need for it.

I have made nice collection in a different way than most Vita wallpapers found on the web.

As you see the two top images are the same and yet so different.
The left is a basic screenshot of MotorStorm Pacific Rift in Vita wallpaper size (960x544).
And works as any wallpaper would do.
But its a overlay on the color full dynamic background that is standard on your Vita.
You won't notice this until you starting to using a wallpaper that has a transparent area on them.
So now for the right one.
This is as i call them PSVita Paper.
Why this name?
Well i named them the same as what the application image you see when starting a game or app.
And it looks like a piece of paper.

Since all wallpapers are overlays you will now see the nice blue (or any other color) of your basic Vita background next to your wallpaper.
This way the transition of the app/game bubbles is the same as the application image
And i like it ;)
If you would like to try some of my wallpaper go to my DeviantArt page.
And view my Vita wallpaper folder in my gallery.

Tell me your thought about my design.
And if you have done something cool with your wallpaper design plz also tell.
I would love to see more variations with PSVita wallpaper design.

Guacamelee DLC Review

With Guacamelee out for some time DrinkBox now has released their first DLC for Guacamelee.
While this DLC those not include much it is a fun pack indeed and a good reason for another playthrough of the game.
The DLC includes a set of costumes with combat attributes that make the feel and experience of the combat slightly different.

Normally you can only play with Juan or with Tostada if you played on the PS3 version with player 2.
But since the latest patch Vita user could also play with Tostada as player 1.
The only difference between player 1 and 2 versions of Tostada is color.
The original Tostada is pink while the player 1 version is blue.
Also any costumes you use for player 2 are based on Tostada not Juan.
So the difference between player 1 and 2 still exists even after the patch.

The DLC also added 3 new Costumes besides the patch costume.
These costumes have attributes that can make you better of worse in a certain skill.

The DLC comes with the Identity Swap costume which make you stronger with the normal attacks but your throw becomes really weak.
Chicken costume which regenerate health over time.
Skeleton costume which gives you infinite stamina but you can't pick up health orbs.

Personally i would have loved to see more level content instead of this costume pack still it is a nice touch.

it was fun to be back for some more Guacamelee but way too short experience for me.
I only had some nice challenging fun with the third column in the Caverna del Pollo while wearing the Skeleton costume.

So why should I buy this DLC if it is just some costumes.
First it’s only €2 which is a nice price for a simple DLC
Sadly the DLC can be finish in only 1 Hour if you are here for just some quick trophies.
Playing with the skeleton costume will make stuff harder and so it brings a new difficulty level for those that had no problem with hard difficulty but want a new challenge.
Stupid fun for just playing again though the game.
A reason for another playthrough.
